A Brief Newsround - Week Ending 21/02/21
Sophie Roberts, a key behind the scenes volunteer and valued member of the LIFE team, has put together this brief round up of just a few of the activities and events which took place at LIFE this past week. Enjoy! Lucy Irvine
Both these cats, plus another two - one who was unfortunately shot and another for a neuter operation - needed visits to the vet this week. Nigel on the left here is being treated for ear mange while Behemoth, on the right, has several problems. Lucy noticed that his fur was falling out and that he had mouth problems and issues with his waterworks, the poor old warrior! He gave the vet an awful time, then escaped from his crate when Ilia brought him home. But, once the hectic day was over and things quietened down at Lucy's home site, Behemoth came back to her and settled down for the night :) Lucy will be updating us on the cat who got shot this coming week.
This week LIFE took delivery of another bulk order of dog food.
We're thrilled to report that five of our rescue dogs have been offered adoption this week and will be getting ready to travel in the coming months. Happily, Terence, Dandelion, Bruno Chipolata, Vincent and Benji have all been offered new homes. We'd like to thank everyone involved for their hard work in regards to rehoming and for those who have been able to so kindly open up their homes to our dogs.

You can continue to show your support by sharing details of our work to your friends. If you know someone who is looking to offer a rescue dog a loving home you can find updated details of the dogs available for rehoming on our Facebook page and website. With your help we are succeeding in completely turning around the lives of these animals :)
One of our supporters, Gill Sinclair kindly organised a fundraising raffle over on our Facebook Group this week, with a handsome £50.00 cash prize up for grabs. She had a scratch card with various dog breeds, and entrants paid £5.00 to select their favourite breed. With 20 squares to fill, the total cash raised was £100.00, and once the winning breed was revealed both the lucky winner and LIFE received £50.00 each.
Here's a list of a few things £50.00 can cover:
- Five days food for resident rescued cats at LIFE
- Quality preventative tick and flea treatment for five of the dogs we support in a local Roma area
- Transport for several animals to the nearest vet clinic for at least 2 trips
- Four sacks of feed for a desperately skinny horse, or 20 bales of mixed hay and alfalfa
- 25 metres of wire netting to repair dog pens and fences
If you are thinking of holding a fundraiser for LIFE please connect with us on our Facebook Group, or via email lifefoundationbg@gmail.com. Every penny raised or cent raised is truly appreciated.

Thanks for reading and have a great week!
